Referee Registration

Interested Soccer Referees:

We are approaching the time again for our Columbia Windham Columbus Day Soccer Tournament. Our tournament this year will be on Saturday, October 09, Sunday, October 10, and Monday, October 11, 2010 (Monday games are for Premier teams only). Last year we hosted 200 teams and scheduled
450-plus games. This year we are anticipating as many teams. As last year, we will be having competition in different levels of play. We will be hosting premier levels, competition levels, and recreation levels. Our Premier division will play games on three days, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. All other levels of play will play only on Saturday and Sunday. Please Note: This year competition teams play on Saturday & Sunday, so there will be a lot more games to fill on Saturday's then in years past and Monday's will be premier teams only. Due to our size and the different levels of competition, our tournament has been a good experience for the experienced referees who would like to participate at a high level of play. In addition, the tournament offers entry-level experience for inexperienced and experienced referees.

Travel Payment ( for anyone traveling more than 25 miles one way ) - $15 per day.
*The duration of wild card games is 10 minutes and all other games are 50 minute games
** (We will not be paying extra for a penalty shootout that is part of a final or semifinal. We will be paying for a penalty shootout when the shootout is to determine the divisional standings which in turn determines which team advances to the semifinals. This also would occur when two or more teams are tied at the end of the Wild Card Playoff.)
*** We will be having short-sided games at the U-12 recreation level and U-14 recreation level. (All other competition in these age groups will be 11v11.) There will be one referee in the middle, and we will pay at the rate indicated above.

This year we are arranging for you to be able to register on-line. Please see the application form below and follow the instructions. If you do not wish to register online, just complete the enclosed card and return it as quickly as possible. Please indicate whether you will be available in the morning or afternoon. Register as soon as possible, but no later than 9/1/10. We will be asking some referees to float (spend the day filling on various fields as needed) and will be paying them $50 per day in addition to payment for games that they cover. Indicate on your card if you are interested. Please note that you must have a current referee certification to referee in our tournament.

(Due to the expected high number of referees interested in working in our tournament, we do not guarantee that we will be able to use you or that you will be assigned the time slot that you request.)
